Eligibility & Rules
Please review the following requirements before submitting your script:
- Free to enter: There are no submission fees.
- Age requirement: You must be 18 years or older to submit.
- Submission limit: A maximum of 3 submissions are allowed per person.
- Genre: We only accept narrative fiction (no documentaries or experimental films).
- Page count: Screenplays must be between 5 and 20 pages.
- Language: All languages are welcome, but screenplays must include English subtitles.
- AI disclosure: Any use of AI or large language models must be disclosed. Scripts found to contain more than 25% AI-generated material may be flagged for additional review and risk disqualification.
Submission Requirements
To submit, you'll need to provide the following:
- Screenplay: In PDF format, 5–20 pages.
- Director’s Statement: Explain why you need to tell this story.
- Planned shooting location
What You Win
The grand prize winner will receive:
- $7,500 production grant to make your short film.
- $500 festival submission grant to help get your film seen.
- Mentorship and support from Kinolime producers.
