Before You Begin: Required Materials
Before starting the submission process, please gather the following materials:
- Your screenplay (75-130 pages) in PDF format
- A treatment (5-10 pages) in PDF format
- A logline (maximum 40 words)
- A synopsis (maximum 500 words)
- A cover image (optional - can be added later)
Important: You must have a registered Kinolime account to participate. If you're not signed in when attempting to submit, our system will prompt you to either sign in or create a new Kinolime account.
Step 1: Accessing the Submission Form
- Navigate to the homepage
- Look for and click the "Submit Your Screenplay" button

Step 2: Understanding the Submission Interface
The submission page is divided into two sections:
- Left side: Competition information and steps
- Right side: Submission form
TIP: You can navigate through the competition steps using either:
- The "Competition Steps" button
- Your keyboard's right arrow key
Step 3: Basic Information
- Enter your screenplay's title
- Select up to three genres from the available options
- Click "Next" or "Save for Later" if you need to complete it another time
Note: Users "Who Save For Later" can continue from where they left off by going to “Dashboard" => "My Screenplays" => "Saved" => selecting the desired screenplay and clicking "Edit."
Step 4: Upload Your Documents
- Upload your screenplay (PDF format, 75-130 pages) Note: The system will notify you if your script doesn't meet the page requirements
- Upload your treatment (PDF format, 5-10 pages) Note: The system will notify you if your treatment doesn't meet the page requirements
- Choose a cover image for your screenplay Note: This can be modified later
Step 5: Additional Information
Answer the following questions:
- Has this screenplay been submitted for copyright?
- Has this work been registered with the Writers Guild of America (WGA)?
- Is this work based on another work?
- Is this work based on someone's true life story?
Note: It's okay to answer "No" or "I don't know" to any of these questions
Step 6: Final Submission
- Review the privacy policy
- Review the submission release
- Check the box to acknowledge both documents
- Click "Submit"
Confirmation
After successful submission, you'll be redirected to your screenplay page where you can view your submission.
Remember: You can save your progress at any time using the "Save for Later" button if you need to complete the submission process later.
