As per section 4 (Ownership & Rights) of our Terms and Conditions:
As between Kinolime and the writer(s) of any submitted screenplay (“Writer”), the Writer
retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Short Film and the submission Materials, including all copyrights.
By accepting the grant, the Writer grants Kinolime a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free,
perpetual license to:
- Exhibit and stream the finished Short Film on Kinolime’s platforms (including website,
digital channels, and sponsored live or virtual events);
- Use images, excerpts, and promotional materials from the Short Film for marketing,
educational, and promotional purposes across social, web, email, and press;
- Publicly identify the Short Film as a Kinolime Shorts Competition winner in perpetuity.
Kinolime will not edit or alter the film without the Writer's consent, unless such
modifications are required for formatting, captioning, or technical compliance on digital
platforms.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is understood that Kinolime is engaged in motion picture, television, and other productions and that Kinolime may now or in the future develop or
otherwise be involved with projects that are similar to the Submitted Materials with respect to genre, story line, plot, elements, characters, dialog and/or other aspects. By submitting to the Competition, you acknowledge and agree that Kinolime’s use of material containing
elements similar to or identical with protectable property contained in the Submitted
Materials shall not obligate Kinolime to you in any manner if Kinolime has obtained such material either heretofore or hereafter from sources other than you.
